Nesebar
Nessebar is a town in the region of Burgas. The cobbled streets of the old town are lined with ruins of Byzantine forts and baths. The ruins of the 5th century St. Sophia include stone columns and large arch windows. The 11th-century St Stephen's Church contains hundreds of frescoes and a huge ornate altar.
Sozopol
Sozopol is the oldest town on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The earliest settlement in the area originated at the end of the 5th century BC. Initially, there were fishermen, farmers, stock-breeders, and metallurgists who had harvested ore from the nearby Copper Ridge. The settlement continued to develop during the Early Bronze Age, and its inhabitants traded bronze alloys in the Black and Aegean Seas.
